LEETON SHIRE COUNCIL NOTICEBOARD GRANTS & FUNDING COMMUNITY STRENGTHENING GRANTS 2025/26 Round 1 Now Open Leeton Shire Council is pleased to advise that applications are now open for Round One of Council's Community Strengthening Grants program. This funding is available to support community groups and organisations in their endeavours to establish, strengthen and/or implement projects which will benefit the Leeton Shire community. Grants are capped at $2,000 each. Applications for this grant will close at 5pm on Friday, 31 October 2025. A copy of the guidelines and application form can be found on www.leeton.nsw.gov.au. To assist community groups and organisations with their application, Council is pleased to announce two free grant writing workshops to be held on 29 September and 13 October at 5pm at the Leeton Shire Library. Saturday 20 September 2025 to Sunday 21 September 2025 8.00am 4.00pm Leeton Landfill & Recycling Centre and Whitton Transfer Station Residents who would like to take advantage of the free entry at the Leeton and Whitton facilities on the Dump for Free weekend can dispose of general domestic waste including garden rubbish, mixed recyclables and general waste. Please note a cap of two standard loads per household (a standard load is the equivalent of a ute/car and trailer combo, or just a ute or carload) applies. Asbestos will not be accepted over the Dump for Free weekend. Commercial waste, tyres and mattresses will not be accepted for free.
