COUNCIL NEWS LEETON SHIRE COUNCIL TON WE ARE HIRING NOTICEBOARD ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL REMINDER 2025/26 YOUTH DEVELOPMENT GRANT AWARDED Salvatore Alampi Council awarded a Youth Development Grant of $250 to Salvatore Alampi to assist him with the costs of attending the Emerging Socceroos football (soccer) tournament held in Melbourne from 6 11 July 2025. Salvatore represented Country NSW at the tournament, which featured the best 15 and 16-year-old players from across all Australian states and territories. Country NSW began their campaign with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Northern NSW, followed by a 3-1 loss to Queensland Silver. In a standout performance, they secured a 3-2 victory over the previously unbeaten South Australia squad. Despite this impressive win, the team narrowly missed progressing to the top-eight finals on goal difference, finishing third in their group. Salvatore's participation was a testament to his talent and efforts, and Council is proud to support young athletes striving at such a high level. When walking your dog in public places or exercising your dog in Council's off-leash areas please ensure that you pick up after your dog immediately. The parasites and bacteria in dog waste can spread disease (e.g., E. coli and salmonella are some of the bacteria which are carried in dog waste) to other dogs and even to humans if not properly disposed of. In NSW, Section 20(1) of the Companion Animals Act states that if you fail to immediately remove your dog's droppings from a public place you can be liable to an on-the-spot fine of $275.
