Becoming a Positive Behaviour for Learning school means a long term investment in creating and promoting the most healthy environment for learning and wellbeing. PEICT RESPECTFUL RESPONSIBLE LEARNERS This year our school continues to embed our values with students being regularly recognised by staff for demonstrating being respectful, responsible, learners and inbuilt lessons for our school to learn and share. We are proud of the enormous progress we have made in 2019 and where we are going in 2020 and thank the community for their wonderful support. Understanding that not all students learn in the same way, we have also employed many different programs to support student interest in their learning. In 2020, our innovative Hands on Learning program provides an alternate pathway for students who appreciate a more creative process with their iearning. As only the third school in New South Wales to adopt this program, we are proud pioneers of new ways to improve not only our students skills, but in promoting different ways of learning, building teams and problem solving. Other programs operational at Leeton High School are our Links to Learning initiative to connect students with our community through learning opportunities and projects to benefit our young people to develop and grow into respectful, responsible future citizens and to give back to our great community. We have also enlisted the support of the COMPACT organisation from Wagga to work with our Stage 4 and 5 girls to empower them to be strong and confident young women. We thank all teachers and external providers for their role in providing amazing opportunities to our students helping them to be the best they can be. Careers Careers Central continues to be the lighthouse faculty in the region supporting our students and other schools to best meet the post school needs of our students. O LEETON H HS PESPEFUL We have continued to offer premier opportunities not only for our own students but the students of the Westem Riverina through our acclaimed Careers Expo and our work ready programs such as the WIN program which has been well supported by our generous community over the years. Thank you to all our business houses who provide their time and expertise to work with our students in their chosen work place. Leadership Wellbeing The induction of our School Captains and Prefects for 2020 was a very special occasion for our school, Congratulations to School Captains, Reece Grundy and Bree McKellar, Vice-Captains Zachary Sharp and Amelie Sachs and Prefects Barkat Ali, Michael Wang. Cooper Holmes (absent in photo) and Jesse Horsefield who were elected by students and staff to lead us in 2020. All candidates should be acknowledged for their interest and motivation and I thank them for their efforts. Wellbeing has been a major focus for Leeton High School.
