NEWSLETTER TERM 3 GRALEE SCIOOL RrODIAY POR We began the term under restrictions which meant we Red Class have continued their major art projects this term, they are creating mosaics! couldn't complete a lot of our usual activities; however, we were still able to begin our Golf Lessons with Jason at the Leeton Golf Club. This term we began our Road Safety Walks with Joey and the students from Leeton High School. On Mondays and Tuesdays, we have a male group and a female group. and all students love learning about each other. Of course, all of this changed when the Local Government Area went into Stay at Home restrictions and Learning from Home was re-introduced. Our students and families at home did a wonderful job, as did our students at school who adjusted to combined classes and different staff each day as we managed our way through 4 very confusing weeks. We would like to express our appreciation to our teachers, school leaders and school support staff. Despite the tough times and changes with COVID-19 restrictions, you all continue to show strength, resilience and a commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for our students. In Week 3 we celebrated Education Week. This included a lot of innovative and creative celebrations from classrooms across the school. embracing this year's theme of Lifelong Learners'. This year's theme tied in nicely with our school motto Today for Tomorrow', as we are continuously preparing our students for their life after school. The theme celebrated education as a continuous journey that starts before a child enters our school, progresses to primary and secondary school, and continues into adulthood as our learners master a trade, pursue adult education services or enter the workforce. Our two school captains, Connor and Amy were presented with their Education Week Leadership Awards. This term we were still able to complete our Local Work Experience sessions. Connor visited Studio 9 and Mitre 10. and Dakota continued her work with Bianca at Yanco Agricultural High School, caring for and feeding the animals. In line with the Department of Education's Attendance policy we began talking to our students in week 4 about attendance and why it matters. In order to encourage our students to continue to improve their attendance at school and move towards 90% attendance for all tudents, introduced a weekly Class Attendance Award. Unfortunately, Home Learning occurred just as we were about to celebrate Congratulations to Green Class, who won the first week, with their class attendance currently sitting at 89%. They won the trophy for the week! Well done Greenies! the 18th Birthdays of 3 very special people. So we spent the last day of the Term celebrating Harry. Amy and Connor!
