YANCO PUBLIC SCHOOL SCHOOL LEADERSHIP PERFORMING ARTS AT YPS Our school captains Ally Bourke and Stephania Cuteri did a wonderful job maintaining a high standard of behaviour, respectful attitude and responsibility toward their school captain role in 2021. The highight of the school year for our school leaders was a trip to Melbourne for the Young Leaders Conference. The captains and teaching staff visited a number of venues including Luna Park, Roof Top Ice Skating. Melbourne Star and the Imaginaria light show. Even though our did an amazing job. opportunities for school leadership tasks were limited this year, Ally and Stephania represented their school where possible presenting awards, attending local events and thanking various members of our community for supporting our school. Restrictions to student participation in public Creative Arts performances did not put a stop to creative activities at Yanco Public School, it encouraged us to find other avenues for promoting the amazing talents of our students at Yanco Public School. Earlier this year the Stage 2/3 students created a "Curious Creatures, Curious Minds' exhibition which was showcased at the Leeton Museum and Art Gallery, the students 202/ Year in Review HIGHLY EFFECTIVE LEARNING SUPPORT At Yanco Public School our well structured Learning Support program continued throughout 2021. An experienced teacher is employed 2.5 days per week to support students in their Literacy and Numeracy leaming. The small group and one to one this year with some great videos posted on our sessions of leaming support allow our classroom teachers to dedicate more of their teaching time to small group and individual differentiation of teaching in the classeoom. It has been very pleasing and love for performance. to see the level of growth and gains students have made in their skill development as well as their increased level of self-confidence. Students were supported in the classroom using the CO-VID funding to assist in providing regular opportunities for students to read with a teacher and support smal group and one to one leaming in Mathematics. Our Music program has been very successful Facebook page. Our choir groups, bucket drummers and ukulele students have learnt some fantastic skills whilst building a higher level of confidence YANCO PUBLIC SCHOOL FACEBOOK PAGE Once again this year we have utilised social media as a regular means of communication for our families. We were able to share an abundance of LEARNING SUPPORT NEWSS All the YPS Learning Suppon students have been working vey weil the past couple of weeks. They always perticularly enjoy leaming concepts through fun games. Such fun activities are great os they ensure each leamer stays engaged and curious and the level of leaming is even more effective because of this fantastic achievements of all of our students via short videos and photos on Facebook. We received so many positive comments for our students' hard work, performances, achievements and resilient attitudes toward learning from home. WELLBEING 2021 YPS students across K-6 to have the opportunity to participate in fun, creative and social activities outside the classroom setting. Students participate in small mixed age groups leaming a range of skills in craft, food preparation, gardening and games. IMPLEMENTATION OF ATTENDANCE AWARDS In Term Four an updated approach to attendance was introduced with students receiving fortnightly awards for 90% and above attendance. The introduction of the changes has encouraged a decline in partial absences which has enabled a higher number of students to engage fuly in the morning Literacy session. Just some of the learning activities students have enjoyed over the past two weeks have been Comecting sentences and spelling board games (grammac, punctuation and speling Word reading basketball; * Phonics fishing Roll and read 'ch' words; Sky, grass and ground letter formation tracing and writing: How many more to 10?' bingo Multiplication and division linking board game, lce-cream numeral ID and dots sort activity. The mental health and welbeing of our students is a high priority and we strive to ensure that our learning environment is fun and engaging. Our students have really loved the opportunity to get out of the classroom and enjoy fun and creative activities. In Semester two this year we commenced the Positive Living Skills program which realy proud of our students and their families for included small group activities to strengthen social and emotional development. Our students have really enjoyed the special Wednesday morning breakfast where two of our students have been HOME LEARNING Again in 2021 Yanco Public School teachers were the way they had taken on board such a dramatic change to everyday ife. Many of our families regularly shared images of their learning online to support and encourage each other. The level selected to support the preparation of breakfast for of effort and commitment that had taken place to the whole school.
