LEETON SHIRE COUNCIL NOTICEBOARD PROJECT UPDATE ROXY THEATRE REDEVELOPMENT (STAGE 2) & MOVIE SCREENINGS October 2025 Council wishes to update the community on the progress of Stage 2 of the Roxy Community Theatre redevelopment and confirm the planned return of movie screenings, including first releases, from the Christmas school holidays. Recent progress included: Roxy 2 theatrette and theatre management electrical rough in; Dry fire rough in; Carpentry for projection booth; Specialist cabling rough in for Roxy 2 theatrette and projection booth; Dry plaster and painting for Roxy 2 theatrette walls and ceiling; Installation of combi ovens in kitchen; Installation of lighting bars in Roxy 2 theatrette; Carpentry to theatre management floor. The total project value for this stage is estimated at $1.6 million. The Australian Government will contribute 50% of the total cost through Round 2 of the Growing Regions Program, with Council funding the remaining 50%. The survey covers critical assets such as sealed and unsealed roads, bridges, footpaths, stormwater drainage systems, and kerb and guttering. Residents can fill in an interactive online survey via haveyoursay.leeton.nsw.gov.au. To promote broad participation, Council will also host a series of community drop-in sessions where residents can ask questions, learn more about the survey, and complete it with the assistance of Council staff. Planning Proposal PP-2025-984 applies to Lot 330 DP 751742 and Lot 3 DP 1067105, 3-9 Brobenah Road, Leeton. The intended outcomes of the Planning Proposal are: Extend the existing R3 Medium Density Residential zone to the north. Rationalise the site in the context of adjoining childcare facility, neighbourhood shops, open spaces, roads and active transport connections. Provide opportunity for medium density residential subdivision and development, subject to all consent conditions, approvals and licences being granted.
