Kindergarten Transition just around the corner! Parkview Public School's Kindergarten Transition Program will begin on Wednesday, 15th October for all students commencing or considering commencing Kindergarten in 2025. Leeton's most comprehensive kindergarten readiness program focuses on each child's preparedness for school, with a view to familiarising them with their new educational environment. Throughout the program, children are immersed in experiences that cater for the development and refinement of fundamental learning skills. Social skills and the further development of resilience and communication skills are also a focus. Now into its 16th year, the program offers a bus service that picks up children from individual homes in Leeton and immediate surrounds if required, also stopping at pre-schools and early learning centres. Parents and carers yet to register for the program can do so via the links on the school's social media platforms. PARKVIEW Performing Arts opportunities for all Parkview Public School provides a broad range of opportunities for all students to engage in the performing arts, with various programs tailored to cater for all levels of involvement ranging from participation all the way through to excellence. The school is regularly acknowledged for its high- level dance program with regular engagement with regionally based events such as KROP and Riverina Dance Festival as well as Schools Spectacular and the nationally acknowledged dance event Wakakirri. The School also facilitates meaningful experiences in band, along with two choir programs who regularly perform at the showcase events including the Leeton Eisteddfod and Schools Spectacular. All students also have the opportunity to perform in the school's showcase performing arts event 'Parkview In Lights'. Student wellbeing and support the key to student success Student wellbeing is at the forefront of all learning experiences at Parkview Public School. With a dedicated Youth Outreach Worker supported by our own School Psychologist, the school offers an array of wellbeing platforms to support each child's educational, social and emotional wellbeing. The school's expansive Learning and Support Team provides significant support for these programs to ensure all children are catered for in all aspects of their schooling. Key elements to the school's learning and support programs include additional intervention teachers across all classrooms targeting literacy and numeracy, as well as a private speech pathologist and occupational therapist servicing the school.
