2022 Year in Review - Parkview Public School Scholastic Endeavours Inspire The high point of an incredible scholastic year came from our talented debating team who carved a successful run in the Premiers Debating Challenge, winning seven consecutive debates before being knocked out at the Riverina Semi Finals stage of the competition. The 2022 School Year has undoubtedly been one to remember for the Parkview Public School community. From the classroom, to the sporting fields, on the stage and in the community, students have thrived thanks to the amazing support of families and the dedication and skill of staff. Parkview students have achieved far and wide across the Australian continent this year, taking the spotlight in Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, in the nation's capital and everywhere in between. The year has been one of highlights, achievements and incredible memories. Dance Ensembles Light Up the Stage! Parkview's talented students were again at the forefront in the performing arts with 2022 proving to be an incredible year of success, with a range of outstanding achievements. The school's Senior Dance Ensemble produced the outstanding primary school performance at Riverina Dance Festival at the Griffith Regional Theatre. This was complemented by a starring role at the national dance competition "Wakakiri" at the Canberra Theatre, performing to great acclaim during the event and being recognised with multiple awards including Excellence in Ensemble Excellence in Soundtrack Mix Excellence in Theme/ Concept Best Team Work Best Individual Costume Design . Most Creative Reuse of Materials . 'Amazing Moment' Award Grace Goman lights up the stage at Riverina Dance Festival Eisteddfod Success Parkview PS was again at the forefront of the time- honoured Leeton Eisteddfod, which made its return after a COVID-enforced hiatus. This wonderful Leeton institution provided so many opportunities for our children to display their talents, and with great success! The school won the Marjory McCormack Scholarship for Excellence in Verse Speaking for just the second time in our history, while our vocalists were again to the fore with our choir being crowned champion of the Choral Section of the event. Parkview Lights Up the Stage 2022 saw the return of the much loved Performing Arts Showcase Parkview In Lights-Parkview Shines A Light on the Environment with more than 1300 people attending two huge shows. All 401 students in the school played starring roles in a production that incorporated skills from all members of the community including choreography, make-up, costuring and set creation This was an amazing experience and opportunity for all students! Jack Crowe stars in 'Parkview in Lights A Sporting Year unlike any other 2022 was a sporting year unlike any of the 51 that proceeded it at Parkview Public School. Individually. three students earned NSW representation at School Sport Australia events. Xavier Chilko captained NSW in AFL in Adelaide, Josephine Invin lit up the court for NSW in Bendigo and Blake Heath won gold in Multi- Class Discus in Brisbane. Unprecedented success for a Leeton based school. In teams events the school also excelled, claiming the LNPSSA Championships in Cross Country, Netball, Girls Basketball, Girls Soccer and Boys Soccer and also finishing Riverina Semi Finalists in Girls Netball and Riverina Finalists in Girls Basketball. The school's inclusive Ten Pin Bowling Team was also crowned Riverina Champions. Blake Heath winning Gold for NSW in Brisbane NSVA 6 Josephine Irvin representing NSW in Bendigo Xavier Chilko representing NSW in Adelaide Parkview again enjoyed significant success in the Premiers Spelling Bee, with Jasper White finishing an outstanding 2nd in the Regional Finals (ultimately being knocked out in the 13th round) while Montana Nardi finished a commendable 3rd in the Stage 3 Regional Final. 2022 also saw the school return to the Tournament of the Minds competition and maintain its strong relationship with the Murrumbidgee Academy of Stem Excellence, providing valuable opportunities for students from a High Potential and Gifted Education background. Early Childhood Programs offer a bright beginning and an assured transition Parkview Public School's highly regarded early childhood programs Bright Beginnings and Winhangara Playgroup, along with its acclaimed Kindergarten Transition Program have concluded for 2022 after an extremely busy Term 4. Parkview Public School Principal Travis Irvinis extremely happy with how children have responded to the program. "It has been tremendous to have so many children engaged in our school preparation programs. They are certainly ready for when Kindergarten commences on February 1, It has also been wonderful to have so many families engaging in the programs offered and we are very excited for the opportunities both Bright Beginnings and Winhangara Playgroup can offer children in 2023 KIND Elsie Bevan enjoys another fun filled ses- sion at Bright Beginnings 2023 Holiday Open Days Parkview Public School will set the new school year running when they host Holiday Open Days during the January Holiday period. These Open Days are excellent opportunities for parents and carers to finalise enrolments, make enquiries and secure uniform needs.
