Helen Dalton MP INDEPENDENT MEMBER FOR MURRAY AS YOUR LOCAL MP, here is my monthly news update. I would like to take the opportunity thank all the constituents of Murray who turned out to vote in March. I am humbled by the response the community demonstrated in re-electing me to be your representative in Macquarie street. I would also like to thank my friends, family and staff for trusting me with the task of getting a better deal for the bush and making sure our issues are no longer overlooked and that we get our fair share. I have already met with our new Premier Chris Minns and am committed to each and every person in this electorate regardless of how you voted to get our fair share. I have also met with the new Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Prue Car in in consultation with NSW Teachers Federation, to discuss the demerger of Murrumbidgee Regional High School, Ms Car has agreed to travel to Griffith during the second term FORY and meet with senior members of the school with the intent of making the demerger a priority. Easter in Griffith and Leeton was a showcase of what community and local businesses are capable of. There was an impressive variety of activities and events that attracted hundreds of people from the area and out of town visitors as well. The Hon. Ryan Park, the newly appointed NSW State government Minister for Regional Health, joined me at Griffith Base Hospital the Leeton Health Service to see for himself the medical challenges we face out here in the bush. I'm looking forward to the first sitting week for this year and presenting our issues to government.
