Looking Back, Moving Forward: 2025 Principal's Report for Yanco Agricultural High School DOL 76 YAH.S UT SEMENTEM FECERIS ITA METES As we look back on the 2025 school year at Yanco Agricultural High School, I am filled with pride as I reflect on our many achievements and share our exciting goals for the future. This year has been marked by outstanding growth across several key areas. Our students have continued to excel in a wide range of disciplines. The agricultural programs remain a cornerstone of our school, offering hands-on learning experiences that develop practical skills alongside academic growth. This year, our students have achieved significant success in numerous shows and competitions, showcasing their dedication and talent. Academically, Yanco Agricultural High School has maintained strong performance in NAPLAN assessments. We experienced considerable growth this year between Year 7 and Year 9, particularly in Year 9 writing. Year 7 results were also encouraging, especially in numeracy, where our students scored above both the state average and statistically similar schools. Our committed staff have also worked tirelessly to provide a supportive and challenging learning environment that fosters excellence, resilience, and a growth mindset. Co-curricular activities have also thrived, with increased participation not only in agriculture, but in sport, debating, music, and community service. These programs are essential in nurturing well-rounded students who contribute positively to society. Our cultural and leadership initiatives have also flourished, helping students develop into thoughtful and engaged Yanconians. This year, we have continued to prioritise wellbeing initiatives to ensure our students have access to counselling, mentoring, as well as universal supports that promote mental and emotional health. Positive feedback from students and parents highlights the value of these efforts. I offer my sincere thanks to our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and wider community for their ongoing commitment to our students' success. Together, we continue to create a school environment that inspires excellence and nurtures future leaders in agriculture and beyond. Looking forward to 2026, our focus remains on student wellbeing, academic growth and aspiration, and high-quality professional learning for our staff. By maintaining these priorities, we will be well placed to prepare our students for the dynamic challenges ahead. Thank you for being a vital part of the Yanco Agricultural High School community. I look forward to another successful year in 2026.
