The 2023 School Year has undoubtedly been one to remember for the Parkview Public School community. From the classroom, to the sporting fields, on the stage and in the community, students have thrived thanks to the amazing support of families and the dedication and skill of staff. Parkview students have achieved far and wide this year, with some unique achievements and experiences making 2023 one of highlights and incredible memories Scholastic Endeavours Inspire It has been another incredible scholastic year at Parkview Public School, highlighted by significant relationship with the Murrumbidgee Academy of Stem Excellence, providing valuable opportunities for students from a High Potential and Gifted Education as well as continued engagement with the Tournament of the Minds and ongoing exposure to learning opportunities courtesy of Charles Sturt University's Future Moves Progam. Students again enjoyed great success in the Premiers Spelling Bee, where Link Williams-O'Leary and Bridget Arel qualified for Regional Finals, whilst the schools' debating teams gave an excellent account of themselves in the Premiers Debating Challenge and the Premiers Reading Challenge. A massive sporting year 2023 was another massive sporting year at Parkview Public School, with a range of unique performances from individuals and teams making it a year to remember. Highlights included *10 students representing Riverina PSSA at NSWPSSA Championships Parkview Girls Soccer Team winning the Riverina Championship and finishing 5th overall in NSW. Chayce Powles representing Rivering at the NSWPSSA AFL Championships and earning a gold medal and winning a state title with his team The school's inclusive Ten Pin Bowling Team was crowned Rivering Champions and competed at the NSW Championships. Mich Weymouth representing NSW of the School Sport Australia AR Championships and eaming a gold medal Parkview Girls Basketball Team making the Rivering Final for the second consecutive year. and winning a national title as part of a team that was also. The school winning LNPSSA Championships in Cross coached by school principal Travis Irvin Country, Athletics, Netball, Girls Basketball, Girls Soccer, Boys Soccer and winning the lan Lucas Memorial Trophy as champion LNPSSA school. Early Childhood Programs offer a bright beginning and an assured transition Parkview Public School's highly regarded early childhood programs Bright Beginnings and Winhangara Playgroup. along with its acclaimed Kindergarten Transition Program have concluded for 2023 after an extremely busy Term 4. Parkview Public School Principal Travis Irvin is extremely happy with how children have responded to the program. "It has been tremendous to have so many children engaged in our school preparation programs. They are certainly ready for when Kindergarten commences on February 5. It has also been wonderful to have so many families engaging in the programs offered and we are very excited for the opportunities both Bright Beginnings and Winhangara Playgroup can offer children in 2024," Australia's Best Beanie! In a unique achievement in 2023, Parkview Public School's striking beanie was voted Australia's Best Beanie, in the Cobroapparel online competition Australia's Best Beanie Competition. Huge support from the school and broader Leeton community land beyond) saw the school's uniquely designed head wear judged the best in Australia, with a brand new tradies trailer secured as the prize. You can get your own Parkview Beanie from the school's uniform shop for just $25. Dance Ensembles Light Up the Stage! Parkview's talented students were again at the forefront in the performing arts with 2023 proving to be an incredi ble year of success, with a range of outstanding achievements. The school's Junior Dance Ensemble produced an outstanding performance at KROP at the Griffith Regional Theatre. This was complemented by a starring role at the national dance competition Wakakim at the Canberra Theatre, performing to great acclaim during the event and being recognised with multiple awards including Ensemble Award for a Well-Performed Rehearsal Storytelling Award for Story Construction and Clarity Creative production award for Creative Reuse of Materials with Costumes Production award for Projection Ensemble Award for Choreography OK MI 2024 HOLIDAY OPEN DAYS Parkview Public School will set the new school year running when they host Holiday Open Days during the January Holiday period These Open Days are excellent opportunities for parents and carers to finalise enrolments, make enquiries and secure uniform needs.
